British number one Kyle Edmund says he is feeling good as he prepares to face defending American champion John Isner in the fourth round of the Miami Open (Edmund EVS, Isner 4/5 – match betting).

Edmund set up the encounter after defeating Milos Raonic of Canada 6-4 6-4 and is hoping to carry his impressive form into the next round when he faces Isner.

The 24-year-old handled the blustery conditions well and with his forehand looking strong, he managed to deal with the Raonic serve, taking two of three break points to win the match.

Edmund says he will face a similar challenge against Isner, who overcame Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas 7-5, 7-6(6) on Sunday, and is hoping for a similar outcome (Edmund 11/5 to win the match 2-0).

“Isner is a similar match up in that you have to try to get his serve back,” Edmund said.

“It’s more just how heavy his serve is and how tough it is to read. I have nothing to lose and have to give my best. I’m feeling good.

“Today it was tricky conditions, blustery and you couldn’t predict anything. To be able to break him once in each set was huge.”

Raonic, who is ranked eight places above Edmund, appeared to be struggling with a back injury that required physio on court in the second set, but nothing can be taken away from the British number one.

The French Open is fast approaching and Edmund, who is priced at 100/1 to win, will be looking to build more confidence ahead of the Paris showpiece.

Odds subject to change.
