It’s been great to see the sun, recharge the batteries and have some quality family time while I’ve been off serving my suspension, but now I’m home from Spain I can’t wait to get going again and start helping the team and riding winners.
Friday morning is when I’m due to start riding out, so hopefully I’ll be feeling good as I make my way to Windsor on Monday for what looks like being a couple of mounts, before a busy day at Yarmouth on Tuesday.
I can guarantee when I’m back in the yard the atmosphere will be one of excitement as we look ahead to our stable’s star, Enable, setting out to win Ascot’s King George under Frankie Dettori for a second year running (Sat, 3.40pm).
The vibes are good and I can tell you for certain she came out of her race very well after winning the Eclipse at Sandown Park earlier in the month.

Going into that engagement some people were suggesting the inadequate trip might pose her a problem, but in the event she looked equally at home over a mile and a quarter as she habitually does over a mile and a half.
Great horses can overcome tricky situations, plus she has the ability to bounce back, even from hard races.
Her draw in stall 11 is an interesting one, but given there are four Ballydoyle horses declared I’d certainly rather have been allotted this position than stall one.
The really great thing about Enable is, as someone who has been lucky enough to ride her on the track and be associated with her throughout her career, whatever the draw and whatever the track, she finds a way to win.
Fingers crossed that remains the case on Saturday when she comes up against some superb opposition.
Check back on Monday next week when I’ll be having a look at the first day of Glorious Goodwood in what will be the first of five daily updates throughout the week.
