Odds slashed on Champions League glory for Ajax after Real rout

Updated: 11/12/2024

It was a case of Dusan and dusted for Real Madrid’s hopes of retaining the Champions League trophy last night. Ajax roared into town and racked up a 4-1 win, inspired by a certain Mr. Tadic.

Before the second leg, our traders had the Dutch giants at a whopping 150/1 to lift the trophy.

But following last night’s stunning win and a flurry of bets on De Godenzonen lifting the trophy for the first time since 1995 – we’ve slashed those odds to just 22/1!

Manchester City are still tournament favourites at 5/2, with Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain at 9/2 apiece.

However, Ajax are now miles ahead of the likes of Roma (80/1) and Manchester United (125/1) in the outright betting.

Alex Apati of Bookmaker said: “Ajax pulled off one of the best performances we’ve seen in Europe in the last 10 years last night. It’s no surprise punters think there’s some value in them going far in this competition.”
