Is time up for Southampton gaffer?
The writing seems to be on the wall for Southampton boss Mark Hughes, with the latest odds suggesting he’s set for a swift exit from the South Coast.
Hughes is now just 1/10 to be the next Premier League manager to leave. Last night’s Carabao Cup exit to Leicester City extended Saints’ winless run to seven games, and could prove the final straw.
Next in the betting is Manuel Pellegrini at 2/1. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is 8/1 (cut from 10/1), with Roy Hodgson at 10s.
They're followed by the pair of Sean Dyche and Nuno Espirito Santo at 16s.
Coral’s John Hill said: “With his side struggling in the Premier League and an exit from the EFL Cup last night, the betting suggests Mark Hughes’ days at Southampton could be numbered.”
Saints face Manchester United on Saturday. Another grim result against his boyhood club could well see Hughes get the shove.
