Borussia Dortmund have rewarded Jadon Sancho with a lucrative new deal in a bid to fend off interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The 19-year-old moved to the Signal Iduna Park in 2017 after Manchester City were unable to guarantee him first-team opportunities.

Since then, he has gone from strength to strength and earned his first international cap for England earlier this year.

Dortmund have doubled Sancho’s current wages, but the starlet has not extended his current deal beyond the current 2022 expiration date.

According to Bild, Dortmund are planning crunch talks with the teen ahead of the European Championships next summer to keep him out of the clutches of Europe’s elite.

Manchester United were credited with an interest throughout the summer, although it seemed to depend on Paul Pogba leaving for a suitable fee.

Sancho only inked a new contract last October, worth £40,000-a-week, with sporting director Michael Zorc labelling him “without doubt one of the most exciting players in Europe”.

Now Sancho will take home £80,000-a-week, as Dortmund continue their fight to keep him as long as possible, with Europe’s biggest clubs continuing to circle.
