England, Ireland and Wales all head into the final weekend of this year's Six Nations championship with hopes of winning the title.

Wales currently sit top of the table and are the only side still capable of winning the Grand Slam after four wins from four.

However, they must defeat Ireland in Cardiff to guarantee the title with defeat leaving the door ajar for England who face Scotland at Twickenham.

Six Nations table

Permutations explained

How Wales can win

  • Wales win if they beat Ireland in Cardiff
  • If Wales and England finish tied on 20 points (if Wales win and England win with a bonus point), Wales will still be crowned champions (Grand Slam winners automatically awarded three bonus points)
  • A draw between Wales and Ireland – and England losing to Scotland – would see Wales win the title without a Grand Slam

How England can win

  • If Ireland beat Wales and England defeat Scotland, then England will be champions
  • A draw between Wales and Ireland – and England beating Scotland – would also see England crowned champions

How Ireland can win

  • If Ireland beat Wales and England lose to Scotland, then Ireland will be champions
