  1. What people forget in criticizing Italy is that it took France a long time to come up to scratch when they joined the 5 nations also they had to develop their domestic clubs Italy will have to do the same. However I do think after France Romania should have been invited to join over Italy they were well established and had a domestic league.

  4. I love how Italians love to say that Italy "needs time, lots of time for improvement" while Georgia doesn't have a chance for improvement. I have nothing against Italy, that's my favorite country in a whole world.. Not that I want Italy out of 6 nations, but to say that Italy is better than Georgia because one year ago Georgia lost to Romania is a rubbish.
First of all, Georgia will face Romania this week and there is no reason to look at the past.
What will Georgia bring to 6 nations if included? Well, nothing I fear, it will bring to Italy something: a rare chance to win a match, at least.
I won't ask you to watch Rugby Europe, it will be too much for you, but we are playing our weakest games in years and still winning easily. I mean, ten minute mobilization is enough to win the game in this fucking tournament. You can literally walk for 70 minutes and nothing happens. This is a dead end. Even u20 player, playing in a semi-professional league can't progress by playing against Germany, Belgium, Russia and others. (Bar Romania).
Moreover, if you want to compare Italy and Georgia, wait for several months, there will be a test between them and then we'll see how better is Italy, if it's any at all.

p.s. By the way I'm supporter of Minozzi, I remember him from two years ago playing U20 world cup against us. He lost then but liked his moves pretty much.

very respectable result for Italy in cardiff in contrast with previous results…im rooting for them. – irish supporter

  6. Luca Zauli says:

It's fun to see how people say Italy isn't good enough for this tournament and should be expelled in order to get better.
My question is, how should Italy improve if you take her away the yearly chance to measure up with the greatest European squads.
    How?
I'm not against Georgia, I'd like to see her in the tournament, alongside Italy and the other five nations; fuss about Georgia not being in Europe, or not winning against Tier 1 nations, or Italy losing by more points to Wales than Georgia did, do not interest me.
Italy has still to grow, a lot. O'Shea is doing a good job(and the good results from Italians team in Pro 14 prove that) but it takes time.
Hopefully, Italian federation will keep him as a head coach for longer than 4 years(like Wales with Warren Gatland).
And if Italy gets kicked out of the Six Nations, I would advise monthly tests against the four great nations of the southern hemisphere, we could benefit from that.
    Unfortunately, I haven't seen Wales-Italy, didn't have the chance.
Just seen these highlights and my congratulations go to Wales, which, apart from Italy, is my favourite national rugby union team.
Sloppy Italy at times, we need to work harder, if we can.
We'll win the tournament in the future, I'm sure of it.
The road to success, unfortunately for Italy, is paved with debacles, very good players that didn't get enough wins as they should have( first of all Sergio Parisse) and years without a win.
That's how this sport works. We all know that.

Congratulations also go to Ireland, a deserved victory for an incredible team, good luck for your match against England.

  7. Italy have an excellent U20 and up and coming program. They did say it was a 5 year plan so I suggest we let them have the 5 years yeah?

  9. Bla bla bla and Georgia bla bla bla…Peoples forget how France took 54 years to win his first 5 nations, Italy in in the 6N only since 17 years, they deserve the same time that other National team have had. Plus, go to look at the result of Italy U20, they've almost beaten ireland playing in 14 (red card), have beater Wales 7-18, have did a great match vs England. the O'Shea work on Clubs and franchises on Italian Rugby is giving his fruits, even looking Minozzi in National team, first cap in 6N and he scored wonderfull tries against all the team, England, Ireland, France and today Wales. The nex gen youngs italian players will close the gap a lot. Mark my words, from here to 4-5 years we will se a great Italy.

I'm not sure if Georgia is stronger than Italy but there should definitely be a promotion or at least a challenge for this tournament!

  14. SumoRugby says:

Three disallowed tries … haven't seen that in a while. The Davies one was a clear offside, but I don't understand why the 2nd Parkes try should be disallowed. Never mind. The mandatory win was won and so was the BP, so all is good. North starting to look like his good old himself. Hadleigh Parkes had a massive game. That's what Gatland wanted to see. Guys stepping up when the usual leaders are resting…

  15. sam jones says:

6 nations why even bother such crap inconsistent teams, magine playing italy all the time lol

  16. Wow, as a Welsh man I would like to say ..well done Italy you really put us to the test I think in a few years you will have a great team
