LA Rams’ Todd Gurley II says the size of Super Bowl LIII means he will be focusing on the team and not his own performance on Sunday against New England Patriots (Money Line – Rams 6/5, Patriots 8/11).

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a stellar season, leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns (17) and playing a vital role as the Rams claimed the NFC Championship.

Gurley II was a minor doubt for Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium after only featuring in 32-of-69 snaps in the Rams’ NFC Championship win over New Orleans Saints, having been rested for his team’s final two regular season match-ups due to soreness in his knee.

As a franchise, the Rams have only claimed the Super Bowl once, winning it as St Louis in 1999, and 20 years later the running back looks set to lead the charge.

The Baltimore-born star has a special affinity with Georgia, having played College Football for the Bulldogs in Athens, and says he is “super-excited” about Sunday’s showdown with the Patriots.

While much of the focus is focused on him after a stellar season, Gurley II says the size of the Super Bowl means there is more to think about than his own performance.

He said: “This sport never been about me, never been about another player. Todd only going to be with the Rams so much longer.

“Going to be another dude come in just like me. This whole game is bigger than me. It’s not just about me.”

Betfred are offering a number of Specials on Super Bowl LIII and punters may look to take advantage of the Evens on offer for Gurley to run over 30.5 yards in Total Receiving yards.

Odds subject to change.
