NFL betting Picks Week 16 2020 & Expert Parlay Picks! - (2025)
Updated: 22/01/2025
It was yet another incredible week of football in the NFL during Week 15 as but there was a ton of interesting upsets from around the league that caught some people off guard. Hopefully, the games listed below are able to go the way we predicted them to go as we talk about the best picks to make during the Week 16 games.
Top NFL betting Picks Week 16
We kick off our NFL betting Picks Week 16 list in Detroit.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Detroit Lions
NFL – Saturday Dec 26; 01:00 PM
The first game on our list this week is the battle between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Detroit Lions. The Buccaneers found themselves down 17 points at halftime against the Atlanta Falcons in their last game but quickly turned it around in the second half with far different play calling.
Their offense has proven time and time again that are one of the most unstoppable offenses in the league with all of the talent they have.
With future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady throwing the football to a few all pro and former all pro receivers and tight ends to go along with dominant running backs to take some of the pressure off of his shoulders.
They also have a fantastic run defense to help bolster this roster even though they haven’t had many winning seasons lately. They get a date with a Lions team that was absolutely obliterated in their last game against the Tennessee Titans.
Tampa Bay v Detroit Lions Odds
Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Tampa Bay | -9½ -115 |
-440 | O 54 -110 |
Detroit Lions | +9½ -105 |
+350 | U 54 -110 |
They had no answer for the Titans rushing attack and were unable to defend their passing game either. Tampa should put up a ton of points on this inexperienced defense while the Detroit offense is currently hobble with Kenny Golladay and Matthew Stafford facing injuries that could potentially hold them out of this matchup.
All signs point to a dominating Tampa Bay victory against a team that is already eliminated from postseason contention.
Pick: Tampa Bay
Cleveland Browns v New York Jets
NFL – Sunday Dec 27; 01:00 PM
The next game up on this list the Cleveland Browns against the New York Jets. Cleveland has been proving all of the doubters wrong lately as they are beginning to form great chemistry with their new head coach.
That chemistry has allowed Baker Mayfield to play looser and understand the system more which has helped him improve his game greatly over the last few weeks.
It also helps that they have arguably the best one two punch at the running back position with Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt sharing carries. When those two are breaking tackles and exploding for big runs, it makes it ten times harder to slow this team down.
They also have a defense that is starting to pick up their play after being dominated multiple times earlier in the year. Meanwhile, the Jets were able to WIN their last game, picking up their first win of the 2020 season in Week 15. They did it against a playoff caliber Los Angeles Rams team.
This could mean that they are either turning the corner as a team or were able to get a lucky victory over an opponent that most likely looked past them. Either way, Sam Darnold didn’t play great in the win, but their offense was able to get enough going in order to help them snag a victory.
Cleveland Browns v New York Jets Odds
Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Cleveland Browns | -9½ -115 |
-450 | O 47½ -115 |
New York Jets | +9½ -105 |
+360 | U 47½ -105 |
It was their defense that was most impressive in that matchup as they held Jared Goff and this talented Rams offense to only 20 points on the day. This game could be pretty close if the Jets begin to play at an increased level to finish the season but otherwise it should be a Browns blowout victory behind their two outstanding running backs.
Pick: Cleveland Browns
Chicago Bears v Jacksonville Jaguars
NFL – Sunday Dec 27; 01:00 PM
Another great pick for this week is the Chicago Bears over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chicago changed their play calling duties a few weeks ago and it has worked wonders for their offense. Mitchell Trubisky has looked like a starting caliber quarterback while running back David Montgomery looks like a top five back in the league in recent weeks.
This improvement on the offensive end has also helped them pick up the pace on defense as well. This team is feeling themselves the last few weeks and should carry that momentum into this game against one of the worst teams in the league.
Jacksonville doesn’t have any type of positives heading into this game after getting blown out by the Baltimore Ravens in their last matchup. They also lost rookie sensation James Robinson in the fourth quarter of that game due to an ankle injury and it is unclear whether or not he can play in this game.
If he is absent, it will make this offense even worse than they already were and it doesn’t help them that Chicago owns a top ten defense in the league. On the other side of the ball, the Jaguars haven’t been able to stop anybody all season long, allowing Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to score 40 points on them.
Even allowing fourth string quarterback Tyler Huntley to lead a scoring drive for this team. Jacksonville has a bright future with a good number of young stars spread across their roster but as of right now they are one of the worst teams in the league with a below average coaching staff.
Chicago Bears v Jacksonville Jaguars Odds
Team | Point Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Chicago Bears | -7½ -110 |
-360 | O 47 -110 |
Jacksonville Jaguars | +7½ -110 |
+300 | U 47 -110 |
Another thing to mention, with the Jets win last week, the Jaguars have now jumped them in the NFL draft rankings for the first pick in the draft this upcoming season. You never know if a team is going to tank or not, but it could definitely be on the horizon for a team that is desperate to start winning again.
You can pick the Chicago Bears with confidence in this game as they could potentially blow them out of the water this week.
Pick: Chicago Bears
