Green Bay face Bears test

Updated: 26/11/2023

Green Bay Packers begin the new NFL season with a trip to Chicago.

The NFL is back and head coach Matt LaFleur will start his tenure with the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night when they head to the home of NFC North rivals Chicago Bears (Chicago 8/15, Green Bay 6/4 – NFL Money Lines).

This in the 199th time these two teams have gone head-to-head and it should be another mighty battle in the Windy City between two of the oldest franchises in football history.

Green Bay have gone in a different direction with LaFleur taking the reins and he has a big job on his hands to turn things around with the Packers.

The last time these teams met was in Week 15 of last season and Chicago managed to battle their way to a 24-17 victory to clinch the NFC North title at Soldier Field.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be looking to get his team off to a winning start this season, with the experienced playmaker supported by running-backs Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams (7/4 – Both Teams To Score A Rushing Touchdown #PickYourPunt).

With a new offense coach in Green Bay too, the Packers could be somewhat unpredictable and they will need to be against a formidable Bears defence.

Head coach Matt Nagy he will be looking for plenty of plays from his own man in the pocket Mitchell Trubisky, who has been tipped for a strong season ahead.

Green Bay tend to get off to strong starts with an 8-3 record in their last 11 Week One outings but that will be put to the test under the lights at Soldier Field as the NFL’s centenary season gets off the ground.
