Best Picks for Week 14 NFL 2020 It's Aaron Rodgers Time! (and also Danny Dimes)

It was another fascinating week of NFL football back in Week 13 of the 2020 season. With new breakout players emerging onto the scene and multiple teams extending their losing/winning streaks.

Best Picks for Week 14 NFL 2020

Similar to past weeks, we look ahead to Week 14 to find out what the best picks are for this week of football. Let’s dive right into the first matchup!

New York Jets v Seattle Seahawks

The first game on our list this week is the battle between the New York Jets and the Seattle Seahawks. The Jets appear on this list every single week but for good reason. They continue to find new and interesting ways to lose ball games despite being close in many of them.

Seattle SeahawksThey were up 28-24 over the Las Vegas Raiders in their last game until the coaching staff decided to blitz eight defenders, leaving three defensive backs in single coverage with the game on the line.

One of those defenders ended up getting beat in coverage and the Raiders scored a fifty plus yard touchdown as time expired to give them the huge victory. The Jets now have to find a way to move past that game and focus on a Seahawks team that is looking to make a statement win after their loss to the New York Giants.

Seattle was smothered on the offensive side of the ball in that game, New York was constantly putting pressure in the face of Russell Wilson as well as forcing a few turnovers throughout the course of the game.

I don’t think that this happens two games in a row, especially against a MVP type quarterback in Wilson. Wilson should come out in this game and light up a very weak Jets secondary that allowed Darren Waller to pick up 200 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Look for DK Metcalf to put up phenomenal stats in this matchup and give the Seahawks a dominant victory. Pick them with confidence this weekend.

Pick: Seahawks

Green Bay Packers v Detroit Lions

The next game up on this list is the game between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions. Green Bay has dominant all season long, sitting at the number two seed in the NFC right now. Their last game was a huge 30-16 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles to keep them in pace with the New Orleans Saints for that top seed.

Green Bay PackersFuture Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers has played stellar football all season long and has developed quite the connection with Davante Adams, wreaking havoc on opposing defenses all year long.

Their rushing attack has also been picking up in recent weeks, making them even harder to defend against on any given week. They get their division rivals in this game in the Lions, who have been struggling all season long despite their 5-7 record.

They have found ways to win games and remain competitive in the NFC playoff picture but the bottom line is that they aren't that great of a football team. They are heavily inconsistent on the offensive side of the football with injuries to D’Andre Swift and Kenny Golladay badly hurting this unit.

On defense they are just an overall bad squad. They cannot seem to slow down the run with the air attack ripping up their young and inexperienced secondary all game long.

Green Bay completely dominated the Lions in the first matchup between these two teams earlier in the season and is bound to do the same this week. I would pick the Packers with a lot of confidence this week due to the immaculate play of Rodgers and Adams.

Pick: Packers

Tennessee Titans v Jacksonville Jaguars

We have another division matchup this week with the Tennessee Titans taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars this week.

Tennessee TitansThe Titans were obliterated in their last game despite the 41-35 final score. The Cleveland Browns were up 38-7 at halftime and basically let off the gas for the entire second half. Tennessee was completely stifled on their rushing attack, something that doesn’t happen very often.

Derrick Henry was unable to truly get going throughout the entire game and it ended up hurting this team greatly. He should be in prime position to go back to his MVP caliber self this week against a terrible Jacksonville defense that is missing numerous players due to injuries.

On the other side of this matchup, the Jaguars came up short yet again in their most recent loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. Jacksonville has been very competitive lately in their past few games but has been unable to pull away with victories in any of those games.

Now with Mike Glennon as their starting quarterback, they hope to finally pick up a win against a very talented Titans squad that is currently second place in their division. This game is definitely going to come down to the wire but the Titans are a terrific pick to make this week if you are looking to place a bet.

Pick: Titans

Minnesota Vikings v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Lastly, we have the contest between the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay BuccaneersThe Vikings have been on fire lately despite not playing to the best of their abilities. Their defense is missing a ton of key starters but has continued to battle every single down. For their offense, they have been carried by the legs of Dalvin Cook, who has surprisingly gotten himself into the MVP conversation this year.

They have to match up against the Tom Brady led Buccaneers in this game who are just filled with talent all over the place. They have numerous weapons on offense such as Rob Gronkowski, Antonio Brown, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

This offense is going to rip apart this injury riddled Vikings defense and put up a large number of points in this game.

Unfortunately for the Vikings, I do not think they have enough firepower to keep up with that level of scoring, which will lose them this game.

Kirk Cousins is not a great quarterback when playing from behind and that is exactly what is going to happen here in this matchup. I would take Brady and the Buccaneers confidently this week in what could be a blowout win.

Pick: Buccaneers
