Now we look ahead towards Week 12 of the 2020 NFL season that is full of more exciting and interesting matchups that you should be sure to tune into. But if you happen to be making some bets on the game, lets go over some of the best picks that you can make for this week of NFL football.
Cleveland Browns vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday, Nov 29, 2020 EST 1.00p
The first game up is the battle between the Cleveland Browns and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Browns are 7-3 on the season and are coming off of a big win over the Philadelphia Eagles 22-17 in a game that saw Baker Mayfield throw for 204 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. Their rushing game really got going in the game though, as they took 40 carries for 137 yards and a touchdown with Nick Chubb totaling 120 of those yards.
They now take the trip to Jacksonville to face a Jaguars team that was held without a touchdown in their loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in their last game, losing 27-3.
Rookie quarterback Jake Luton threw for 151 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions, an awful showing against an elite defense.
Their only true positive in that matchup was their running back James Robinson as he took 17 carries for 73 yards.
Cleveland hasn’t scored much points in their last few games but much of that is due to being in terrible weather, they now get a beautiful day out in Florida for this matchup against a 1-8 Jaguars team.
This game shouldn’t be that close considering how much more talent that the Browns have than the Jaguars. You should feel confident picking the Browns in this matchup.
Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets
Sunday, Nov 29, 2020 EST 1.00p
Next up we have the Miami Dolphins facing off against the New York Jets.
The Jets make an appearance on this list every single week as they have yet to win a football game this year so far. They lost their last matchup to the Los Angeles Chargers 34-28 with their only positive from that game being veteran quarterback Joe Flacco.
Flacco threw for 205 yards and two touchdowns but also fumbled and threw an interception early in the game. They also got good production out of longtime running back Frank Gore as he handled 15 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown.
But the fact that their best two performances were from players who have spent 10 plus years in the league is a telling sign. This team isn’t going to compete well for the next few years as long as they continuously get rid of their draft selections.
It doesn’t look very good for them this next game either even though the Dolphins did lose their last game to the Denver Broncos 20-13, dropping them to 6-4 on the season.
Miami struggled so much offensively against Denver that they pulled rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa in the fourth quarter for veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Tua had only thrown for 83 yards and a touchdown up to that point while Fitzpatrick picked up 117 yards and an interception in one quarter of playing time.
They also didn’t get any type of success in their ground attack as well, taking 17 carries for 56 yards without a touchdown.
While each of these teams had problems in their last matchup, the Dolphins had won 24-0 against the Jets last time and should be in prime position to do that again this week. Miami is a great pick again this week.
Seattle Seahawks vs Philadelphia Eagles
Monday, Nov 30, 2020 EST 8.15p
Our last game on the list is the game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Seattle moved to 7-3 on the season after their huge Thursday night victory over the Arizona Cardinals 28-21. Russell Wilson continued his quest for the MVP with a 197-yard performance with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
But it was their rushing attack without Chris Carson that really came to play last week, as they took 31 carries and totaled a whopping 165 yards and a touchdown out of them.
Their defense also had a solid showing after they were consistently ripped apart during their previous games.
However, they are going to have to put up those type of performances consistently if they have any hopes of making a deep playoff run in a few months. They get a far easier opponent this week in the Eagles who are somehow in first place in their division at 3-6-1 on the year and a loss to the Browns last week.
Carson Wentz continued his atrocious season last week with 235 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions with one of them being returned for a touchdown.
Miles Sanders picked up 16 carries for 66 yards without a touchdown in this game and he would have had more if it wasn’t for their terrible offensive line that doesn’t give Wentz any time to go through his progressions.
Their defense also happens to be one of the weaker units in the league due to their inexperience outside of their very talented defensive line that features Fletcher Cox.
This game may be closer than expected because Seattle likes to keep their fans on the edge of their seats, but they will ultimately win this game.
I can’t see Seattle losing to a struggling team like the Eagles right now, not after the way that Russell Wilson has been performing lately. Take Seattle with a ton of confidence this week.
