Updated: 19/11/2024
Once again, the NFL world had a few shocking turnarounds throughout the week. There will always be upsets in this league, but there are also some favorable matchups around the league as well.
Best Picks for Week 11 NFL 2020
We can start off in Pittsburgh as we kick off our article on the best picks to make around the league during Week 11 of the 2020 NFL season.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Jacksonville Jaguars
Sunday, Nov 22, 2020 EST 1.00p
The first game up on this list is the matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Steelers are still undefeated and sitting at 9-0 after their dominant 36-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in their last game. A game that saw them harass and get after rookie quarterback Joe Burrow throughout the matchup.
Their offense was also firing on all cylinders, as Ben Roethlisberger threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns while their rushing attack was performing up to their standards once again. They are one of the most well-rounded teams that we have seen in a very long time.
They now go head to head against a Jacksonville team that is on an eight-game losing streak and sitting at 1-8 on the season.
However, they were able to give the Green Bay Packers a run for their money in their last contest, losing 24-20 but keeping the game close throughout despite having a sixth-round rookie quarterback as their starter.
He is expected to get the starting job once again in this matchup which could be a terrible decision as the Steelers have one of the best defenses in the NFL right now.
They will be able to throw Jake Luton off his game early on and cause him to make mistakes which will set up Pittsburgh in wonderful field position.
Expect Jacksonville to fight throughout the game and keep it as close as they possibly can but the Steelers are the far superior team this season and shouldn’t end up losing this game whatsoever. Pick the Steelers with confidence once again this week.
New York Jets vs Los Angeles Chargers
Sunday, Nov 22, 2020 EST 4.05p
Next game up is the battle between the New York Jets and the Los Angeles Chargers.
It seems as if the Jets find themselves on this list every single week but not in a good way either. They are winless on the season and are expected to lose yet again this week against another struggling team.
New York may also be without their best quarterback Sam Darnold as he may still be nursing his injury that he suffered a few weeks back. This would mean that Joe Flacco would get the start yet again this season.
It also doesn’t help that their defense is among the worst units in the entire league, while their offense is the 31st ranked offense in the league. If they get outscore early on in the game, then it will be incredible hard for this bad Jets offense to fight their way back into it.
Meanwhile, the Chargers are coming off a 29-21 loss at the hands of the Miami Dolphins in their last game, but they put up a great fight against a hot young Miami team.
Los Angeles has a surprisingly explosive offense now that rookie phenom Justin Herbert is the starter of the team, as he is putting together big week after big week. They also may be getting Austin Ekeler back from his hamstring injury that has caused him to be sidelined the last few weeks.
Their defense should also be relatively healthy going into this matchup as well against a very porous Jets offensive line. Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram should be able to completely dominate the line of scrimmage and severely limit the play selection of New York.
The Chargers should dominate every facet of this matchup en route to their third win of the year.
Miami Dolphins at Denver Broncos
Sunday, Nov 22, 2020 EST
Lastly, we have the Miami Dolphins taking on the Denver Broncos.
The betting line indicates that this will be a very close game but when you look farther into it you will realize how lopsided these two teams really are.
In the game against the Chargers, Tua threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns without an interception while they were able to get their rushing game going, taking 32 carries and turning it into 111 yards and a touchdown.
Miami has also thrived off of their defense lately, as they are consistently getting pressure on the quarterback while making big plays in the secondary and forcing takeaways.
It also helps that their special teams are able to help them out tremendously in punts and kickoffs. They face off against a Denver team that just got crushed by the Las Vegas Raiders 37-12. It was a game that saw Drew Lock throw four interceptions while only passing for 257 yards and one touchdown.
They also took 19 carries while only getting 66 yards out of them.
That one touchdown that they were able to get in that game happened very late in the fourth quarter when the game was already decided.
Their defense gave them no support either, struggling to slow down their hot division opponent.
Miami will be able to put a ton of pressure on the Broncos injury riddled defense by establishing a dominant rushing attack. They will also suffocate the Broncos with their elite defensive play across the board, especially due to Lock’s poor play ever since he has come back from his shoulder injury that the sustained earlier in the year.
