Time to Study repelled the awkward Alright Sunshine in the closing stages of the Old Borough Cup at Haydock on Saturday to send the Scoop6 rolling over to St Leger Saturday.

Just one unit remined going into the fifth leg of the Scoop6, and that was on the well backed 5/2f Alright Sunshine who looked like making a winning run down the middle of the track but began to hang over to the far rail while the tenacious Time To Study ran on strongly to succeed.

The final classic of the season next Saturday Doncaster will be contested alongside a Scoop6 that will begin the day with a win fund worth £193,317 and a bonus fund of £61,881.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said, “Plenty of fancied runners went in in the Scoop6 on Saturday but nobody could put them all together resulting an estimated £400,000 Scoop6 on show next Saturday to celebrate the oldest and seasons final classic at Doncaster.”

The place fund paid £88.60 and was won by 214 units.
