Matt Hulmes’ Scoop6 selections - (2025)

The Scoop6 turns 20 this weekend – and to celebrate, Fred has put up a massive £200,000 bonus to any individual Betfred winner!
While the combined win and bonus fund is also estimated to reach a whopping £550k!
Racing is spread across Ascot, Chester and York on Saturday, with five races live on ITV.
We start at York and BEDOUIN’S STORY can be the party pooper in the race named after Get Knotted, who bids for a fourth successive win in ‘his’ race. The selection looks well treated and his run at Newcastle last time can be marked up as he did too much up front and was the last of the pacesetters to be swallowed up, but still suck on to be fifth.
Down at Ascot and Godolphin can make it two out of two courtesy of WINGS OF TIME. He got up close home at the Newmarket July Festival and can defy his rise in the weights under James Doyle.
Back to the Knavesmire and SAVALAS, who bounced back to form at Headquarters a fortnight ago, can land the ultra-competitive sprint under Jamie Spencer. He is 6lb lower than when a course and distance fourth at the Dante meeting.
RIPP ORF‘s form figures over this seven furlong trip at Ascot reads an impressive 13125 – and he was finishing strongly on the wrong side of the track at Newmarket in the Bunbury Cup. He must go well under Hayley Turner back at his happy hunting ground.
Finally, CANFORD BAY can score in our sole visit to Chester to take his course record to 2-2 before ENABLE regains her King George VI & Queen Elizabeth title under Frankie Dettori. There is an air of inevitability about Frankie winning the day’s big race, just like he did twenty years ago on Daylami, the day the totescoop6 was born. In Enable, he has the superstar the game craves, and she can increase her star quality in the sports midsummer highlight.
Matt’s final picks
Leg 1 – Bedouin’s Story
Leg 2 – Wings Of Time
Leg 3 – Savalas
Leg 4 – Ripp Orf
Leg 5 – Canford Bay
Leg 6 – Enable
