Race Preview
Ethical Diamond gets an ideal opportunity to bounce back after facing much stronger opposition this season. Willie Mullins' Breeders' Cup Turf winner was unable to land a blow in the Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot after an unsuitably run race in Dubai, but this represents a significant drop in class. His outstanding 2025 campaign, which included victories in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap, the Ebor and the Breeders' Cup Turf, sets a clear standard, and Ryan Moore is an eye-catching booking for his return.
Endorsement is the obvious danger. Now with Joseph O'Brien after leaving Ballydoyle, the progressive three-year-old has excellent Leopardstown form, having finished second in both the Ballysax Stakes and Derby Trial before winning over this course and distance. His Royal Ascot second confirmed he's capable of mixing it at Group level, and the generous weight-for-age allowance makes him a serious threat.
Green Impact is respected after holding his own in Pattern company this season. A Group 2-winning juvenile at Leopardstown, he has an outstanding record at the track and arrives after respectable efforts in both the Irish Derby and a York Group 2. While this trip stretches his stamina slightly, his course record makes him dangerous.
Layfayette remains a reliable campaigner but is better suited by easier ground, while Gaucher looks up against his stablemate despite solid all-weather form. Ascending also has plenty to prove after two below-par efforts this season.
Value Angle
Green Impact has won all three of his starts at Leopardstown and often saves his best performances for this venue. At each-way odds, his proven course form makes him an appealing value play.
