Wins for Arsenal, Chelsea and United?

Updated: 18/09/2024

Super Sunday this weekend is all about the top-four. Manchester United go to Huddersfield Town, Chelsea host Watford and Arsenal receive a visit from lowly Brighton & Hove Albion.

We’re all set for a tense afternoon. But who will steal a march in the race for the Champions League? We’ve previewed all three clashes in our Premier League Betting Tips.

Huddersfield v Man United (2pm, Sky Sports Main Event)

Jose Mourinho came unstuck here last year. A same fate is unlikely to befall Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. United haven’t been great over the last couple of months but they should still have enough to win this one.

Our traders have them down at 3/10, while it’s 11/10 they Win to Nil. That should only require David De Gea to keep his hands together, given that the Terriers have failed to score in exactly half their home matches.

Romelu Lukaku is rated the man most likely to net at 21/20, although it’s Marcus Rashford who takes our interest. The England ace has the skills to bamboozle the Town backline and is 13/10 Anytime or 13/2 for 2 or More.

Chelsea v Watford (2pm)

You’re guaranteed goals when these two meet. The pair have shared 21 in their last four meetings, which each match seeing Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score. It’s 4/7 for the former and 4/5 about the latter here.

Chelsea have edged three of those fixtures. And while Watford always put up a fight, they don’t have a great record at Stamford Bridge. Their last win in West London came in front of a 12,017 crowd back in 1986.

They’re 7/1 for all three points, or 19/10 on the Double Chance. The hosts should edge it at 2/5, despite their Europa League involvement, with a Blues Win and Both Teams to Score at 15/8.

Eden Hazard is the obvious pick where goals are concerned. The Belgian struck twice at Vicarage Road on Boxing Day and has 13 goals at the Bridge this season. He’s 14/5 to Score First, while is Gerard Deulofeu is 16/5 Anytime.

Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion (4:30pm, Sky Sports Main Event)

On paper this looks like a gimme for Arsenal at 2/5. But we thought that when Crystal Palace visited the Emirates a fortnight ago. Brighton won’t make it easy with a stubborn rearguard performance.

The Seagulls held out until the 88th minute against Spurs last month. If they do the same here, then we could be looking at Draw/Arsenal at 3/1 in the Half Time/Full Time market.

Can England and Brighton ace Lewis Dunk keep Arsenal out?

Arsenal should still get the job done. Alexandre Lacazette has been in fine form at home and is 6/5 Anytime or 6/1 to Score 2 or More, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang odds-on to net at 10/11.

Brighton themselves won’t offer much goalscoring threat. They’ve only scored once in their last 670 minutes of football in the Premier League. It’s 29/20 for Arsenal to Win to Nil.
