Watford moved into seventh in the Premier League and took a big step towards becoming the ‘best of the rest’ after they beat Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The relegated Terriers lost another game in the top flight after they were unable to deliver the goods in front of their own fans at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Spaniard Gerard Deulofeu opened the scoring in the fourth minute and he then grabbed another nine minutes from time to take his tally to eight in his last nine matches.

Huddersfield lost their seventh straight game although striker Karlan Grant did manage to score a consolation in stoppage time.

The Hornets can still qualify for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup final but they also moved one step closer by moving into seventh in the league table.

Like Huddersfield, Fulham are already relegated but they recorded their first away win of the season after beating Bournemouth 1-0. Aleksandar Mitrovic’s penalty proved the difference as the Cherries were punished for missing several chances.

Craven Cottage caretaker boss Scott Parker recorded a second straight win following last week’s 2-0 victory over Everton as he tries to prove his worth ahead of next season.

The most entertaining game of the day saw Leicester snatch a 2-2 draw against West Ham United. Harvey Barnes scored his first goal in the Premier League as he and Jamie Vardy cancelled out Michail Antonio’s and Lucas Perez’s strikes.

At the wrong end of the table, Brighton secured a vital point in their quest of survival from a 0-0 draw as Wolves were left frustrated in their pursuit of European football.

Wolves dominated from start to finish and hit the post twice as Brighton (5/2 – To Be Relegated) fought well and edged closer to safety as they opened up a three-point gap to Cardiff City.

The Bluebirds will get the chance to reduce the deficit when they entertain Liverpool on Sunday afternoon (Cardiff 16/1, draw 13/2, Liverpool 1/5 – Match Odds).

Odds subject to change.
