The clash between Premier League’s two leading teams will be one of the most awaited encounters this season. Pep Guardiola’s men will be visiting White Hart Lane with a 100 per cent record having won all their six fixtures. His ace striker, Sergio Aguero is in prime form scoring 11 of the 18 goals the Citizens have scored in the current 2016-17 season. Although he will be missing the talents of Kevin De Bruyne, one of his key men upfront out with a hamstring, he can rely on the skills of the likes of Sterling, Nolito, Navas and Silva to deliver the goods.

Of concern to Guardiola has been the defense comprising of Otamendi, Kolarov, Sagna & co. Barring one match, the Citizens have conceded in all their remaining five Premier League outings, a fact that Spurs will bear in mind.

Tottenham will be missing Harry Kane in their striking force. But coach Mauricio Pochettino will look to his £17 million Dutch import, Vincent Janssen,to get him goals. A lot will be expected of the brilliant Dele Alli in bringing cohesion to the Spurs attack in the absence of Kane. He will have to be assisted by the likes of Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela, Victor Wanyama and Danny Rose in pursuit of the one thing the Spurs would like to see the most – goals.

Although Pochettino’s boys have been the most parsimonious when it comes to letting in goals, just 3 this season, they have scored a paltry ten of which 4 have come from the boots of Son Heung-min alone. Spurs fans are eagerly waiting for Vincent Janssen to get his first one soon and Sunday’s clash will be a test for him in the absence of someone like Kane.

One could see a match in which the Citizens would probably dominate possession and move forward in their usual quest for goals and Spurs hitting hard on counter-attacks and catch the City defense in their weak moments.

Tottenham had won both their League outings in the 2015-16 against Manchester City, home and away, 4-1 and 1-2 respectively. Bookmakers are expecting that to reverse on Sunday as evidenced from the betting odds.
