Both teams are back from the pandemic break but with different momentums going into Friday night's clash at the Tottenham stadium.

The break may have come as a relief for the hosts who have not registered a single win from their last six outings across all competitions notwithstanding their ouster from the Champions League and FA Cup.

Manchester United, by contrast, look much better having come out unbeaten in their last 5 Premier League games – the last one being a 2-0 win over reigning champions Manchester City.

While Jose Mourinho's men will strive to remain in the Top 8 and aim for an entry into the next season's Europa League, United will be looking to break into the Top Four and a Champions League berth to boot.

The Red Devils are only 3 points behind 4th placed Chelsea's 48 and with nine EPL games to go, Ole Solskjaer's men think they are in with a chance.

For United, the good news is that Marcus Rashford will be back after a prolonged back fracture.

With 14 goals from his 22 Premier League appearances this season, the young English forward could be in a  lethal goal-scoring mode on Friday helped by some adroit assists from the very productive Bruno Fernandes in the mid-field.

For Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min, the 3-month break has worked out well as they are back from extended injuries that kept them out for most of the games before the interruption in March.

By contrast, Spurs have done well at home, winning 8 of their 14 Premier League fixtures at the Tottenham stadium and scoring 27 of their 47 goals this season at the venue.

Moreover the North London side have lost just once to United in their last seven encounters.

Despite their away problems, the Red Devils can strike first in this one as they have been quick starters, scoring in the first half in their last 8 fixtures and netting before half-time in their last seven on the road in all competitions.

But with a weak away record and a host side desperate for a win expect Solskjaer's troops to be under pressure as the game progresses. Which is why UK betting sites have given Tottenham a slight edge as far as odds go.
