John Stones says Manchester City remain confident they can win a quadruple this season.
Manchester City defender John Stones claims his team-mates firmly believe that they can achieve the quadruple this season ahead of their Champions League quarter-final second leg visit of Tottenham on Wednesday (Manchester City 3/10, Tottenham 10/1, Draw 5/1 – Champions league match betting).
The Citizens have already secured the Carabao Cup this season and will face Watford in the FA Cup final at Wembley next month as they look to secure both domestic pieces of silverware.
The Premier League title race appears to be going down to the wire as Liverpool sit two points ahead of City (8/11 Outright), who have a game in hand.
City are 1/6 to win the FA Cup and 8/11 to win the Premier League.
However, City’s next instalment in their quest to win all four trophies this term, which they are now 7/1 to achieve in Betfred’s Multiple Trophies market, sees them look to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit when Spurs arrive at the Etihad Stadium this week.
No other team has managed to pull off the quadruple, but Stones is adamant that the group pf players at City are in a confident mood.
The England international said: “I don’t think a lot of things are impossible, that is the mindset of different people.
“If you don’t dream big then you are not going to get anywhere near it. It comes from within everyone, we have this belief and ambition to do it.”
Stones also believes a good outcome against Tottenham on Wednesday can help boost their bid to defend their Premier League title with five matches remaining.
He added: “These sorts of games bring out the best in us. We have to trust in ourselves and our team-mates and perform on whatever day we have a game.
“We have five games left, everything to play for and we have to enjoy the pressure and roll with it and believe in ourselves.”
Odds subject to change.
