Sheffield Player Form
Chris Wilder's Sheffield are having a good season so far after their return to Premier League for the first time since 2006-07. The Yorkshire side are sitting pretty in the top half of the table with 8 points from their 6 League outings so far. They share the same points with sides like Tottenham, Manchester United and Burnley who are in the 7th, 8th, 9th positions respectively but find themselves in the 10th spot owing to a slightly lower goal difference.
The Blades showed a lot of character to come back from 0-2 down to equalize 2-2 against Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago and then hold on resolutely to a 0-2 lead against Everton last weekend.
In most games, the Sheffield defense have looked solid and able to soak in a lot of attacking pressure from rivals. John Egan, Jack O'Connell and Chris Basham have been excellent at the back and will be expected to hold forte against a rampaging Liverpool, whom they will host at the Bramall Lane on Saturday, the 28th of September.
Dean Henderson who was excellent between the posts in most of his games and already has 3 clean sheets so far, will have his job cut out against Mohammad Salah & co.
The seven goals the Blades have scored so far have been evenly distributed and the likes of forwards Lys Mousset, Callum Robinson and Billy Sharp are the ones the visiting Reds will have to be wary of in event of counter attacks. Sharp, who was on a two-match red card suspension is expected to return for Saturday's fixture.
Liverpool Player Form
While the hosts at Bramall Lane have no injury issues as such, Liverpool will be going into the weekend clash with a few of their own. Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita with muscle injuries are major doubts to start on the 28th while striker Divock Origi will be out with an ankle injury till this month end.
Adrian will keep his place between the posts in the place of long-term absentee Alisson. Mohammad Salah, Robert Firmino and Sadio Mane are expected to keep their relentless pressure on the rival defense as they have done in their past six games.
