Sadio Mane injury: Will Liverpool star be fit to face Burnley and Bournemouth?
Updated: 14/01/2025
Sadio Mane has been a Fantasy Premier League favourite since he banged in two goals in the opening gameweek of the season, setting the tone for a fruitful campaign.
This form has seen 32.3 per cent of FPL players recruit the Senegalese attacker, who has now racked up 80 points, the ninth most in the league and the fourth most by a midfielder.
But now Liverpool's No 10 is suffering with a foot injury picked up in the closing stages of the Merseyside derby.
How serious is the injury?
Following Liverpool's victory over Everton, Jurgen Klopp revealed the potential for squad rotation for Liverpool's Gameweek 15 fixture against Burnley.
He said of Mane's injury: “Sadio got a real knock on his foot, we'll have to see how that ends. He played a game, huh?! He was so quick, unbelievable.

“He is sitting in the dressing room and has a cut on his foot – 20 minutes before the end of the game – I don’t know how it happened, [it's a] very painful thing. He didn't tell me, otherwise maybe we would have changed differently.”
Klopp added a further update at his press conference on Tuesday, stating: “Sadio and Robbo we need to have another look today.
“Sadio has an awful cut on his foot, it's been stitched. He's walking in flip flops but we don't play in flip flops.”
Should I replace him?
No.
By the sounds of it Mane's injury is superficial and won't force him to the sidelines for an extended period of time.
If Klopp's comments are anything to go by it looks like the attacker will at worst miss just one gameweek.
Potential replacements
Should you decide to press the panic button and punt Mane, sign one of these point scorers as a replacement.
Dele Alli (£8.9m) has returned to full fitness and appeared at his sharp best against Chelsea in Gameweek 13. Consider recruiting the Englishman ahead of Spurs' kind run of fixtures.
Felipe Anderson (£7.1m) is West Ham's top scorer so far this season, scoring 64 points in 14 gameweeks. The Brazilian will undoubtedly build on this tally in the coming weeks and should serve as a bargain replacement for Mane.

Leroy Sane (£9.4m) has scored just six less points than Mane despite starting just seven of Manchester City's league matches. Guardiola will likely become more reliant on the German in the busy December period, so consider recruiting him as a like-for-like replacement.

Retain Sadio Mane in your squad for Gameweek 15, but keep an eye out for Klopp's press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
