Neymar in sights for Man United £200 Million grab
Updated: 07/10/2024
[fcrp_feat_sc sc_id=”16024″] Manchester United are lining up a sensational swoop for Paris Saint-Germain megastar Neymar. The top striker would cost the Devils in excess of £200 million but United have made it clear they will pay a world-record fee and match his £30 million-a-year wages to bring him to Old Trafford.
United have told the Brazilian superstar they will rival Real Madrid for his signature if he quits PSG this summer.
Real Madrid believe they are front runners to sign the 26-year-old, who shocked the football world by agreeing to join PSG from Barcelona last summer for a staggering £198 million.
Neymar's father ‘tasks PSG superstar's agent with sealing move to Real Madrid'. But United’s hopes lie with Neymar Santos senior with whom they have a working relationship. He is a United fan and would love his son to play for the club one day.
Neymar has had numerous fallouts with manager Unai Emery and, although he is leaving at the end of the month, it hasn’t changed the samba striker’s desire to leave the French capital after one season.
Neymar ‘tells teammates he will quit Paris Saint-Germain if he wins World Cup with Brazil. Earlier in the week reports in France said Neymar's father has tasked super agent Pini Zahavi with sealing the Brazilian's transfer to Real Madrid .
Neymar quietened speculation by watching his teammates in the French Cup final having spent a lot of time in Brazil rehabilitating from injury.
But rumours have reared their head again with French paper Liberation reporting Neymar Sr travelled from Paris to Brazil to speak to Zahavi to try and force through a summer switch.
Real Madrid reportedly believe the acquisition of Neymar is the only signing that would satisfy the fan base after a disappointing campaign in 2017-18.
While Los Blancos could still win an incredible third Champions League on the spin, they have failed domestically, currently sitting a huge 18 points behind Clasico rivals and runaway leaders Barcelona in the table.
Any deal to take Neymar to the Bernabeu would cost in excess of the near £200 million fee paid by PSG to lure him to the French capital last summer.
