Hull City vs Chelsea Prediction – 01/10/2016 – Blues to assert in visit to Hull - (2025)

English Premier League Preview – Hull City vs Chelsea Prediction – October 01, 2016 – KC Stadium
Our Hull City vs Chelsea prediction sees a clash between two clubs whose fortunes have been going downhill of late. While a battered and bruised Hull had to bear a 1-4 drubbing at home at the hands of Arsenal and a 5-1 away thrashing at Anfield in succession, Chelsea lost their last two matches to the same opponents 0-3 and 1-2.
After a promising start to the Premier League season with two wins, Hull just faltered in the reaming four clashes after that losing three of them. They are down to the 14th position on the table with 7 points. Chelsea, though, are better placed at 8th place with 10 points from their 6 Premier League outings. But as “supposed” title-contenders, their fans will expect much more.
For Hull City, leaking in goals has been a big problem, this despite Eldin Jakupovic having one of the highest percentage of saves among Premier League goalkeepers. David Marshall took over from Jakupovic to mark a disastrous debut against Liverpool last week.
Goal Stats
The Tigers have let in 12 goals so far, which is the fifth-highest of all EPL teams. Of the 7 goals they have scored 3 have come from Robert Snodgrass alone, underlining the team's over-dependence on the forward.
For manager under pressure, Antonio Conte, the missing of the injured veteran John Terry in defense has been a worrying factor. Branislav Ivanovic and Cahill have not lived upto expectations.
N'Golo Kante's midfield touch that so helped Leicester City last season was completely missing. He found no support there from a struggling Nemanja Matic. Fabregas and Eden Hazard will have to step up their game and Diego Costa will have to concentrate less on antics and more on goals come Saturday at the KC stadium.
Despite the negatives, the Blues have history on their side. Chelsea haven't lost once in their last 9 encounters against Hull City with 7 of them being wins. Hence bookmakers are heavily skewered in favor the visitors.
Probable starting XI for Hull City: (playing in a 4-5-1 formation): Marshall; Elmohamady, Livermore, Davies, Robertson; Snodgrass, Huddlestone, Clucas, Mason, Diomande; Hernandez
Probable starting XI for Chelsea: (playing in a 4-1-4-1 formation): Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz, Azpilicueta; Kanté; Willian, Fabregas, Matic, Hazard; Costa
