Solskjaer now favourite to get Man Utd job

Updated: 11/12/2024

Latest odds for the Old Trafford hotseat

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now the frontrunner to get the Manchester United job on a permanent basis, according to our latest odds.

Solskjaer is currently in charge at Old Trafford until the end of the season. He’s now 6/4 to get it full-time after overseeing six wins from six games since replacing Jose Mourinho.

The most recent victory was Sunday’s 1-0 win over Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur. Pochettino had been favourite for the United job, but he’s now back at 7/4.

Zinedine Zidane is further back at 8/1, with every other candidate at 10s or longer.

Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead said: “Nobody could have predicted the start the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has enjoyed and punters have clearly been impressed too. They’ve been queuing up to get their bets on the Norwegian to still be in charge for the first game of next season and he’s now the favourite in our book.”

Following their good start to life under Solskjaer, United are also 20/1 to go unbeaten in the league for the rest of the season. They’re 8/1 to win the FA Cup or 40/1 for the Champions League too.

“This run of form has already seen us cut the odds on United winning the Champions League, from 50/1 to 40/1, and we make them 20/1 to not lose a league game under Solskjaer this season,” added Aitkenhead.

To be Manchester United manager on the first day of the 2019/20 Premier League season

6/4 Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, 7/4 Mauricio Pochettino, 8/1 Zinedine Zidane, 10/1 Masimilliano Allegri, 12/1 Gareth Southgate, 20/1 Antonio Conte, 20/1 Diego Simeone, 20/1 Laurent Blanc, 25/1 Eddie Howe, 25/1 Lucien Favre, 25/1 Michael Carrick
