NBA Friday Night Accumulator: Raptors roar into Brooklyn ready to feast on the Nets
Updated: 09/12/2024
We’re back with more Friday night action in the NBA and it’s a jam packed schedule.
The Lakers, Raptors and Warriors are all in action — while form team OKC Thunder also play. Let’s pick apart the action to see where the value is.
Raptors @ Nets
Friday, 7 December, 00:30
As the most in-form team in the NBA, the Toronto Raptors look to continue their fantastic season so far and should rack up another win. With nine victories in their last 10 games they’ve been formidable.
Plenty was made of Kawhi Leonard’s signing during the off-season and he’s not disappointed at all. Kawhi is averaging 26.1 points per game this season and has great chemistry with the likes of Serge Ibaka and Kyle Lowry.
The Nets are on an eight-game winless run, being outscored by as much as 6.8 points per game and are shooting under 40% from the field in their last five games.
Add their current form to the fact the Raptors have won their last five road games and there’s only one way this game is going.
Thunder @ Bulls
Friday, 7 December, 01:00
After a slow start to the season, the Oklahoma City Thunder gathered themselves and have been on an incredible run of 16 wins in their last 19 games.
A thrilling win over the Nets on Wednesday made it five straight wins and they arrive for this road game in confident mood.
The Bulls fired their coach recently, but haven’t been able to end a seven game losing streak. The Pacers saw them off easily last time out and it’s now 11 losses in their last 12 games for the beaten down Bulls.
The Thunder are simply too powerful right now for most teams, with Paul George, Russell Westbrook and Steven Adams all in tremendous form.
Lakers @ Spurs
Friday, 7 December, 01:30
The Los Angeles Lakers are looking good right now and made it seven wins in nine games when they beat the Spurs in LA on Wednesday. It was a strong 121–113 win too and showed the Lakers can win convincingly when required.
Fortunately for the Spurs they have the chance to immediately make up for the defeat here when they welcome the Lakers to San Antonio. With just five wins in their last 17 games, however, it’s hardly a sure thing.
They continue to struggle both home and away, so will need a big showing from main man DeMar DeRozan.
The Lakers haven’t been as impressive on the road this season, but the Spurs seem extremely troubled right now. Back LeBron and co to take this one.
Warriors @ Bucks
Friday, 7 December, 02:30
The Golden State Warriors come into this tough game looking strong and have won five of their last seven games. If they triumph here it will be three straight victories.
The return of Stephen Curry has undoubtedly helped matters, with the superstar coming back from an 11-game absence in emphatic form. He managed 42 points midweek against the Cavs including a massive nine three pointers.
Things will be a lot different against the Bucks. Milwaukee have won six of their last nine games and will be a powerful opponent. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Eric Bledsoe continue to be big factors and the Warriors must keep a close eye on both if they are to take a win here.
Last time the two teams met it was the Bucks who took the win and it seems it could be the same story here given how strong they are at home. With a 12–2 record on their own court the Bucks will have enough.
