This is the first meeting between the two sides since 2010.

West Brom dominated the fixture in the mid-noughties with five wins on the bounce.

Their last Championship meeting also came at Portman Road as Chris Brunt netted a last-minute equaliser for West Brom.

Likely XIs

Tom Adeyemi, Emyr Huws and Jonathan Walters remain on the injury list for the hosts. Jon Nolan could return after recovering from a dead leg.

But Lambert could name an unchanged side after picking up two draws in his first two games.

Darren Moore will have to decide whether to stick with Hal Robson-Kanu or replace him with Dwight Gayle in attack.

Matt Phillips and Harvey Barnes have impressed this season, whilst Kieran Gibbs should play at left-back.

Key Battles

Ipswich’s midfield three includes youngster Trevoh Chalobah. The England U20 international has cemented a place in the team since his loan move from Chelsea.

He should come up against James Morrison and Jake Livermore in the engine room.

James Rodriguez should spearhead the ultra-attacking Baggies.

The Tractor Boys’ defence of Luke Chambers and Matthew Pennington could have a busy night.

Match Odds

West Brom stopped a run of four games without a win in the thrashing of Leeds.

Moore’s men are 20/23 to grab the win they need to jump into the automatic promotion places.

Gayle is 7/5 to score anytime and grab his tenth league goal of the season.

The Baggies to score Over 3.5 goals for a second-successive match is at 10/1.

Lambert to get his first win as Ipswich manager is 17/5. Freddie Sears to score and the Suffolk-side to win is 6/1.

Our traders have Both teams to score at 20/23.
