Halloween XI – The Spookiest Team In The World

Updated: 20/11/2024

It's time for another punalty shootout and today we're going for a halloween special.

Here is SportNation's spookiest football team in the world:

Team Breakdown:

Goalkeepers

We've gone for two solid men between the sticks in Casper Schmeichel and Petr Cech Under The Bed. Both keepers are Premier League winners with plenty of experience, catlike reflexes, and superb organisational skills. What many people don't know is that Casper Schmeichel is actually the ghost of his father Peter Schmeichel, who was murdered by Roy Keane shortly after he joined Manchester City in 2002.

Scare Rating: Jurgen Klopp celebrating a last minute winner.

Defenders

England internationals Rio Murdernand and John Terryfied are widely regarded as two of the best centre-backs of their generation. With Terryfied's fearless defending and Murdernand's exceptional passing, both players are worthy of a place in our starting XI. Full-backs Angel Strangle and Satan Baines are always guaranteed to put in a shift, and we're keeping Gary Devil on the bench to provide additional commentary / hilarious horror movie noises.

Scare Rating: Jamie Carragher's reaction to an unexpected hand on the thigh.

Midfielders

We've gone for two pacey wingers in Rascream Sterling and Julian Draxula, both of whom are experts at ghosting passed defenders. In the middle of the park are another two English legends in Paul Skulls and Frankenstein Lampard. Skulls is well known for his horrific sliding tackles, and Lampard is always good for a few 35yd…screamers. (We'll show ourselves out).

Scare Rating: Being a Man United fan this season.

Forwards

Our two strikers formed an excellent partnership during their time together at Manchester United, and have not quite managed to reach the same heights ever since. Rooney's infamous hair transplant was actually a cover up for a failed experiment, in which Alex Ferguson attempted to implant Ruud Van Nistelrooy's brain into Rooney's head. When the affects started to wear off, United gave Van Nistelrooy his brain back, forcing Jose Mourinho to sell Rooney back to Everton, where he was later shipped of to DC United. A now brainless Rooney is currently the best player in the MLS – what a league!

Scare Rating: Franck Ribery.
