Bundesliga Preview: Dortmund and Munich clash headlines big weekend

Preview and odds ahead of Bundesliga ties

Der Klassiker. The big one is finally here. The world’s media will all descend on Signal-Iduna Park on Saturday evening as Borussia Dortmund take on Bayern Munich.

The league’s top two meeting each other will give the likes of RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mochengladbach a chance to close the gap at the top.

However, the spotlight is all on Dortmund. Will Die Borussen extend their lead at the top or can this be the beginning of a Bayern revival?

Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich (Saturday, 5.30pm)

This is genuinely one of the most intriguing Klassiker for years. Bayern president Uli Hoeness makes his club underdogs for ‘the first time in a long time’.

It’s certainly one of the few occasions you go into it believing Dortmund have more than a punchers chance. And our traders agree with the home side at 23/10 to win.

The defending champions are four points adrift of their rivals following the draw to Freiburg last weekend.

It’s been a stuttering start for new boss Robert Kovac, but an away win at their nearest title challengers at 11/10 could provide the watershed moment.

In the goal-scorer markets, Marco Reus is 19/10 to score anytime.

His team-mate Paco Alcacer has been on fire since he joined on loan from Barcelona. The tricky Spaniard is 6/1 to bag 2 or more goals.

Jadon Sancho is 8/1 to net his fifth league goal of the season.

There’s been 4+ goals in each of the last three meetings. It’s 6/4 to repeat this feat.

Former BVB star Robert Lewandowski has been the club’s scourge ever since he left for Bayern. The Polish striker is 14/5 to notch 2 or more goals.

RB Leipzig v Bayer Leverkusen

Sunday sees an absorbing tussle which could and probably should be between two Champions League-chasing clubs.

Whilst RB Leipzig lie third after a tough start, Bayer Leverkusen have struggled to get going after only winning three of their opening ten games.

Die Roten Bullen start at 17/20 to secure another three points, which could see them in the top two depending on results elsewhere.

A win for Leverkusen at 29/10 could push them into the top half of the table for the first time this campaign.

Timo Werner has scored a brace in his last two games in all competition. The German forward is 3/1 to do it again.

Kevin Volland to bag for Leverkusen anytime is 15/8.

Best of the rest

There are still some interesting ties elsewhere in the Bundesliga.

It all kicks off with Hannover against Wolfsburg on Friday night. The Wolves are 6/4 to take the spoils.

Following the conclusion of the match at Leipzig’s Red Bull Arena is Schalke’s trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.

After winning their last two games Schalke perhaps a Frankfurt side who haven’t lost since September isn’t the team you want to face.

Nonetheless, an away win is at 11/5. Ante Rebic to score first and Die Adler to win is at 8’s.
