Albert Bartlett winner Storm cut for Stayers’ Hurdle glory

Updated: 19/11/2024

Penthill and Apple’s Jade head the betting

Our traders have cut Kilbricken Storm to 20/1 (from 33/1) for the Stayers' Hurdle, after connections of last season's Albert Bartlett winner confirmed the eight-year-old would be aimed at the three mile contest.

Penhill is 6/1 favourite for a repeat success in the race, ahead of Apple's Jade, Laurina and Samcro, all 8/1 but all with other possible Festival targets.

Coral’s David Stevens said: “This year's Stayers' Hurdle looks wide open, with many of the current leading ante-post contenders far from certain to take their chance.

“And having been well beaten on his second start over fences, it’s perhaps not surprising Kilbricken Storm's connections have decided to return to the smaller obstacles,” added Stevens.

**Stayers’ Hurdle
