Kieran Trippier has once again been a standout player for Tottenham this season, playing a key part in four clean sheets and chipping in with four assists and a goal too.

His impressive form has seen him earn 59 Fantasy Premier League points.

In Gameweeks 13 and 14, however, the full-back was sidelined with a groin injury, but the defender could now be set to return in Gameweek 15.

How serious does the injury look?

Tottenham gave the following update last Tuesday ahead of the club's crucial Champions League fixture against Inter Milan.

“Full-back Kieran Trippier, who has also had a groin issue, is in the final stages of rehabilitation.”

Though the full-back missed the north London derby it sounds like he could return in time for Tottenham's fixture against managerless Southampton in Gameweek 15.

Should I sign him?

Possibly.

It sounds like Kieran Trippier's spell on the sidelines is set to come to a close.

Pochettino may have been reluctant to bring Trippier back into the fold for a fearsome north London derby and the prospect of a weak Southampton side will be much more appealing for the returning player.

Expect the full-back to feature in Gameweek 15.

Potential replacements

Patrick Van Aanholt (£5.4m). The Eagles are set to embark on a kind run of fixtures, facing Brighton, West Ham and Fulham in the next three gameweeks. Recruit the Dutchman if you’re after a good value defender.

Antonio Rudiger (£6m). Though very much in the shadow of fellow Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso in FPL terms, he has quietly racked up an impressive points total.

Fabian Delph (£5.3m) is currently covering for an injured Benjamin Mendy in Man City's defence and could benefit from the league leaders' tendency to pick up clean sheets. Swap him in as a cheap alternative to  Trippier.
