Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth Prediction and Preview – October14, 2017 – Wembley Stadium – 15:00 hrs – EPL Preview

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs will be looking forward to break their Wembley jinx when they face a beleagured Bournemouth in a weekend Premier League clash on Saturday. The Lilywhites have gone winless in all their three Premier League outings at Wembley so far. Losing one to Chelsea and drawing the other two with Burnley and minions Swansea City. Leading Spurs scorer Harry Kane along with Del Alli, Ben Davies and Christian Eriksen will try to make the most of the visiting Cherries, who with just one win from seven games are languishing at the 19th spot of the Premier league table.

Many of Tottenham's players will be returning from their respective international duties in the WC 2018 qualifiers, among them being Hugo Lloris who was exceptional between posts for France and has had a major hand in putting his nation on the road to Russia. Some of the others who will be back from their international assignments are Kane, Eric Dier, Kieran Trippier, Harry Winks and Del Alli (England), Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen (Belgium),Christian Eriksen (Denmark) and Ben Davies (Wales).

Spurs will obviously hinge on Kane to get them goals at the Wembley on Saturday. The prolific striker has scored as many as 15 goals from his last 12 outings and the one each he scored for England in the qualifiers against Slovakia and Lithuania (both wins of 1-0) have helped his country secure a berth for Russia 2018.

Going into the clash with Bournemouth, Spurs are plagued by injuries with folks like Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama possibly ruled out for the weekend clash. This could see right back Serge Aurier into the starting XI after coming out of a one-match suspension.

As for Bournemouth, Eddie Howe's boys are having the worst start to the season since their advent to Premier league in the 2015-16 season.

Apart from a insignificant 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, the Cherries have crashed to 5 defeats and conceded as many as 11 goals.

They have ekked out just four goals from their seven games with thier main striker, Sunderland import and veteran English striker, Jermain Defoe, just managing to find the back of the net only once. Same's the case with strikers Joshua King and Andrew Surman (one goal apiece), underlining the sheer ineffectiveness of the Bournemouth attack.

It's hard to see them break down a Tottenham defence that has let in a measely four goals from their seven Premier League outings.

Moreover the Cherries have been inflicted heavy defeats by Tottenham in three of their previous four outings and despite the latter’s Wembley jinx, the visitors could be staring at their sixth defeat of the season.

Tottenham are likely to maintain their third spot on the EPL Table post their October 14 clash by earning three potential points.
