Liverpool vs Arsenal: Kick-off time, TV channel and live stream details, team news and line-ups
Updated: 20/09/2023
After a bruising few weeks for Arsenal, the last thing they need is a trip to Anfield to face league leaders Liverpool.
A draw with Brighton on Boxing Day is just the latest sign that Arsenal’s momentum has stalled somewhat, with consecutive defeats to Southampton and Spurs in the Premier League and League Cup respectively making for a grim mid-December.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have won their last seven matches in all competitions and currently top the table by six points.
Arsenal have not beaten Liverpool during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure and last won away at Anfield in 2012, while they played out a battling 1-1 draw at the Emirates back in November. Though Unai Emery could really do with all three points, one would be a respectable return.

Team news and expected line-ups
Liverpool avoided any fresh injuries during their 4-0 win against Newcastle on Boxing Day, though Joe Gomez and Joel Matip remain on the sidelines with a fractured leg and broken collarbone respectively. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a long-term absentee, while James Milner may be a slight doubt after missing the Newcastle game with a minor muscle tweak.
Arsenal, meanwhile, should be seriously worried about their growing injury list. Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck are out for the foreseeable, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out for up to six weeks with a fractured metatarsal, Hector Bellerin remains sidelined with a calf problem, but Shkodran Mustafi starts despite a recent hamstring issue.
With the strange saga around Mesut Ozil rumbling on, the Germany international will once more be a high-profile omission from the starting XI.
Liverpool starting line-up (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson; Shaqiri, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
Arsenal starting line-up (4-3-3): Leno; Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Mustafi, Kolasinac; Xhaka, Torreira, Ramsey; Maitland-Niles, Aubameyang, Iwobi
