Fantasy Premier League: 15 transfers to make with your new Wildcard - (2025)

Your second wildcard bullet is in the chamber, Fantasy Premier League fans.

Do you a) exercise patience and wait until your squad is ravaged with injury?

Or b) recklessly pull the panic trigger and re-haul your squad in a desperate – and likely hopeless – attempt to make up ground up on your mini-league rivals?

You've chosen the latter, haven't you?

Well, make the most of it by selecting the following 15 players.

Goalkeepers

Neil Etheridge, Cardiff City

Etheridge was a relative unknown before Cardiff City's promotion to the top table.

But since his penalty save in Gameweek 2, the stopper has outlined himself as a popular choice between the sticks.

He has made three penalty saves this season, and Cardiff's defence has a newfound steel which has seen them earn three clean sheets in four matches.

Cost: £4.6m Points: 99

Lukasz Fabianski, West Ham

Alisson, Ederson and David de Gea all rightly contest the title for best goalkeeper in the league, but beyond the the multimillion-pound trio you'd be hard-pushed to find a better stopper than Lukasz Fabianski.

West Ham's No 1 has made 83 saves this season – more than any other player in the league – and has made less than three stops in a game on only four occasions.

Cost: £4.8m Points: 90

Defenders

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Crystal Palace

In Fantasy Premier League terms, this boy is magic.

Wan-Bissaka has consistently been one of the strongest defenders in the league, scooping up 77 points, 14 of which have been bonus points. Not bad for a player that costs £4.5m

Cost: £4.5m Points: 77

Andy Robertson, Liverpool

Robertson is arguably the one must-own player in the league.

He has amassed 124 FPL points so far this season and is always a strong contender for bonus points.

The Liverpool full-back has laid on five assists and earned 13 clean sheets so far this season.

Cost: £6.6m Points: 124

Ricardo Pereira, Leicester

Ricardo Pereira delivers in defence and attack.

Leicester's Portuguese defender has been involved with seven goals this season and has kept as many clean sheets. He's also the league's fifth top scoring defender.

Cost: £5.3m Points: 96

Lucas Digne, Everton

After an iffy start to the season which saw him earn just 26 points in the first 11 gameweeks, Digne has outlined himself as a reliable and reasonably priced defender.

The Frenchman has been involved with five goals in his last seven appearances for the Toffees and earned an impressive 12 points in Gameweek 22.

Cost: £5.2m Points: 87

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool

Despite being overshadowed by teammates Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk in the FPL, Trent Alexander-Arnold has harvested a very impressive 93 FPL points so far this season.

The England defender is very reasonably priced at £5.2m and is an assured bet for clean sheets given Liverpool's stingy defensive qualities.

Midfielders

Felipe Anderson, West Ham

Is the Brazilian the best player outside of the top six? Possibly.

Is he a good value purchase in midfield? Absolutely.

Invest in Anderson for a high chance of assists and goals – the former Lazio player already been involved with 11 goals this season.

Cost: £7.3m Points: 108

Samir Nasri, West Ham

Nasri proved himself a worthy addition to West Ham's squad in Gameweek 22, laying on an assist for teammate Declan Rice during their 1-0 victory over his former club Arsenal.

Manuel Pellegrini's early use of the Frenchman, paired with Nasri's bargain price of £5.5m, make him worthy of consideration for any FPL side.

Cost: £5.5m Points: 6

Paul Pogba, Man Utd

What a difference a manager makes.

Paul Pogba has been exceptional for Manchester United since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, picking up his latest assist during United's 1-0 victory over Tottenham.

The hulking midfielder's return to form coincides with fixtures against Brighton, Burnley, Leicester and Fulham. Expect Pogba to deliver more goals and assists in the coming gameweeks.

Cost: £8.5m Points: 105

Leroy Sane, Man City

He frustrated over the festive period, earning just five points in relatively “easy” fixtures against Leicester, Crystal Palace and Southampton.

But, against Liverpool, Sane put in a blistering performance capped off with a goal and a 10 point haul.

The German forward should be one of the highest earning point scorers come the end of the season.

Cost: £9.6m Points: 107

Mo Salah, Liverpool

Do I really need to explain why Mo Salah is an asset to your FPL squad? Just sign him, yeah?

Cost: £13.4m Points: 162

Strikers

Raul Jimenez, Wolves

From Gameweek 1, Raul Jimenez has seen his ownership rocket from 129,000 players to 1,331,000 in Gameweek 22.

The striker's rise in popularity is due to his impressive goals and assists tally (six of each) and his low price of £6.4m.

And now Jimenez and Wolves are set to embark on a run of seven games without playing any of the top six.

Cost: £6.4m Points: 95

Marcus Rashford, Man Utd

Another United star who has undergone a renaissance under Solskjaer, Rashford has rapidly outlined himself as United's first-choice goalscorer after muscling out Romelu Lukaku.

Currently, Rashford is listed at just £7.4m but it wouldn't be a surprise if this inflated upwards to north of £8m by the end of the season. Invest in him before all your friends and colleagues do, too.

Cost: £7.4m Points: 86

Danny Ings, Southampton

Ings has scored seven goals this season – a total that would be drastically higher if it wasn't for his injury problems.

If the 26-year-old retains his fitness and strings together a decent run of games, then he should significantly increase his goal tally by the end of the season.

Cost: £5.5m Points: 68
