⭐ Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle Tips

WIN: C’Est Different
MAIN DANGER: Supremely West
VALUE BET: Electric Mason
OUTSIDER: Staffordshire Knot

Race Overview – Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle (4:40 Cheltenham)

The Pertemps Network Final is one of the most competitive handicap hurdles of the Cheltenham Festival, run over 3 miles on the New Course.

Only horses that qualify through the Pertemps series can line up here, which means the field is typically full of well-handicapped runners that have been targeted at this race throughout the season.

With 24 runners expected, tactical positioning, stamina and jumping under pressure are all crucial in a race that regularly produces dramatic finishes up the Cheltenham hill.

The 2026 renewal looks wide open, with several progressive stayers in the line-up including C’Est Different, Supremely West, Electric Mason, and Absolutely Doyen.

⭐ Main Selection – C’Est Different

C’Est Different looks a highly progressive staying hurdler who could be very well handicapped.

The Sam Thomas-trained six-year-old has been extremely impressive in handicaps this season, winning four from four starts and doing so in emphatic fashion.

His most recent victories over trips around three miles suggest he has the stamina required for this race, and his ability to travel strongly before quickening away from rivals is a major asset in large-field handicaps.

If he continues his rapid progression, C’Est Different could be very difficult to stop.

⚠️ Main Danger – Supremely West

Supremely West has been towards the head of the market for this race for some time and brings strong handicap form.

The Dan Skelton-trained eight-year-old showed plenty of promise earlier in the season and his subsequent runs can be forgiven given the circumstances.

He remains well treated on his best form and looks ideally suited by a strongly run three-mile handicap at Cheltenham.

With Harry Skelton in the saddle, Supremely West looks sure to be involved in the finish.

💰 Value Bet – Electric Mason

Electric Mason is particularly interesting at double-figure odds.

The Chris Gordon-trained seven-year-old ran an excellent race when finishing second to Ma Shantou at Cheltenham, a piece of form that looks very strong given that rival’s subsequent success in Graded company.

He then followed that performance with victory in a valuable race at Haydock, confirming his continued progress.

With proven form at Cheltenham and stamina for three miles, Electric Mason could be a major player.

🐎 Dark Horse – Staffordshire Knot

Staffordshire Knot is another runner worth considering at a bigger price.

The Gordon Elliott-trained eight-year-old has been thriving this winter with three wins over trips between 2m6f and 3m, proving both tough and consistent.

Carrying top weight will not make life easy, but his strong staying ability and battling attitude could see him outrun his odds.

Other Contenders

Absolutely Doyen
Unbeaten since joining Paul Nicholls and arrives on a five-race winning streak. A major contender if he continues improving.

Ace Of Spades
Progressive seven-year-old who has won twice this season and ran well over this course earlier in the campaign.

Kikijo
Still improving and has shown a strong finishing effort in recent races, particularly on softer ground.

Bold Endeavour
Finished fourth in the 2024 Pertemps Final and now returns on a significantly lower mark.

Predicted Finishing Order

  1. C’Est Different
  2. Supremely West
  3. Electric Mason
  4. Staffordshire Knot

Final Verdict

The Pertemps Final is always one of the toughest races to solve at the Cheltenham Festival, but several runners arrive here with strong progressive profiles.

C’Est Different stands out as a horse still improving rapidly and could prove well handicapped if continuing his winning streak.

If he produces another strong performance over three miles, C’Est Different could land one of the meeting’s most competitive handicaps.

Best Bets Summary

WIN: C’Est Different
EACH WAY: Electric Mason
DANGER: Supremely West
OUTSIDER: Staffordshire Knot
