Conor McGregor effortlessly nails ‘Bottle Cap Challenge’ before nominating Floyd Mayweather - (2026)

Conor McGregor has become the latest celebrity/athlete to successfully attempt ‘The Bottle Cap Challenge’ and nominated Floyd Mayweather to have a go.

Being a mixed martial artist, McGregor would have more of an advantage than most when using a spinning kick to send the cap flying and as expected, he executed it to perfection.

McGregor, a former featherweight and lightweight champion in the UFC, spotted British actor Jason Statham taking part and after nailing the challenge, took a swig from a bottle of his Proper Whisky.

The aim of the challenge is to basically unscrew the bottle cap in one swift move without the bottle falling over.

Once completed, you must then chose someone to perform it.

The Irishman chose to call out boxing great and former opponent Mayweather to take on the bottle.

“Excellent job @jasonstatham, I tip my cap to you” said McGregor on his official Instagram account.

“I’ll take it from here. I nominate Floyd Mayweather.”

Mayweather stopped McGregor in the tenth round when they met in a crossover boxing bout in August 2017. Maybe he was just trying to see if his rival’s kicking game is up to scratch.

Max Holloway, another UFC fighter was among the first to have a go, who then nominated John Mayer, who in turn threw the challenge onto Jason Statham.
