Goodwood 2.25 – Maid to Remember (ew)

This well bred filly has a bit to find on form, but she is quietly progressive and could improve a ton for a sharp step up in trip. She stayed on takingly for third behind Smart Call at Newcastle last time and ought to appreciate this return to Turf.

Goodwood 3.00 – Land Force

A pretty tight edition of the Richmond Stakes which can go the way of the Aidan O’Brien trained Land Force. A fine third in the Norfolk Stakes, when one place in front of Molecomb winner Rumble IntheJungle, he might have improved again when cruising home at Tipperary last time. This step back up to six furlongs looks the right move and he warrants maximum respect.

Goodwood 3.35 – Veracious

Frankie Dettori can mark his return to the saddle – and show the benefit of his recent appeal – by winning the Nassau on the lightly raced Veracious. A sparkling maiden winner last back end, she was all the rage for the Guineas until injury intervened, but showed she could make up for lost time with an excellent third to Alpha Centauri in the Coronation Stakes, when shaping like the clear second best before getting a little tired late. The step up to ten furlongs should suit, and she can continue on an upward curve.
