For the third straight year, the New England Patriots have made it to the Super Bowl but will they have enough to beat the Los Angeles Rams at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on February 3 (Los Angeles Rams 11/10, New England Patriots 4/5 – Moneyline).

Despite New England being five-time Super Bowl champions, the Patriots were regarded as underdogs heading into the play-offs this season after failing to hit the heights of previous years in the regular season.

But, as the old saying goes, you can never write off the Patriots and victories over the Los Angeles Chargers and then the Kansas City Chiefs in OT in the AFC Championship match has secured their spot in Super Bowl 53.

It will be New England’s 11th appearance in the end-of-season showpiece whilst it is the ninth of the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era – with the successful combination going for win number six.

The event in Atlanta will be a repeat of Super Bowl XXXVI – 2001’s “The Greatest Show on Turf” – in which the Patriots edged past the Rams, who were then based in St. Louis, 20-17.

Under the guidance of Sean McVay, the Rams look like a different animal this season and they managed to edge past the New Orleans Saints 26-23 in overtime in the NFC Championship game.

Los Angeles have the second-best offence this season – behind the Chiefs – and there will be huge expectation on wide receivers Brandin Cooks, Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds.

So often in these big games, it can come down to experience and that is where the Patriots have vast amounts, with quarterback Tom Brady once again proving he is one of the greatest of all-time.

Rams QB Jared Goff may have thrown for more yards and TD’s in the regular season but Brady’s performance against Kansas proved he is the player you want when it comes to making the big plays.

In terms of running backs, LA have both Todd Gurley and C.J. Anderson to call upon whilst the Pats have Sony Michel and James White, with the New England duo looking in great form during the play-offs.

It is gearing up to be a high-scoring encounter and it is 10/11 for there to be over 57.5 points in the contest.

With New England’s record in the Super Bowl so impressive, and Brady eager to lift the Vince Lombardi trophy for the sixth time, the smart money looks to be with the Pats.
