Chicago Bears are the defending NFC North champions but look set for a stiff challenge in their title defence.

The NFC North is set to be a tough one to call this season as the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings all battle it out for top spot in the division.

It is fair to say the Detroit Lions are unlikely to be in the running and unsurprising that is reflected in the betting as they are the outsiders at 9/1 to finish top of the pile come the end of the regular season.

That leaves the Bears, the Packers and the Vikings to compete for that top spot in what looks to be the most open division in the NFC as all are priced at 2/1, and it should be an intriguing contest.

The Bears managed to secure their first divisional title since 2010 last year as they only lost four matches through the regular season under head coach Matt Nagy and young quarter-back Mitchell Trubisky.

If Chicago can continue that progress then they will be tough to beat and could even be in the running for the Super Bowl, with the Bears at 20/1 to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

After the disappointment of last season, Green Bay have gone in a new direction with head coach Matt LaFleur coming into the fold.

The Packers, who have not reached the play-offs since 2016, have splashed the cash in Free Agency to give experienced quarterback Aaron Rodgers the tools he needs to go out and win games, although whether the 35-year-old still has the game to go on and win his second Super Bowl remains to be seen.

As for the Vikings they will need their QB Kirk Cousins to come up with some consistent form if they are to mix it with the Bears and the Packers this term.

Cousins is in the second year of his three-year deal and the 31-year-old must be given the freedom to make plays and try to take Minnesota to the top of the division, having disappointed last term with a record of 8-7-1 as defending NFC North champions.
