The Scoop6 win fund failed to be won once again on Boxing Day as Clan Des Obeaux, one of just three uncovered runners in the fourth leg, gave Paul Nicholls a tenth King George at Kempton.

With a win fund of £558,127 starting the final Saturday of the year, plus an unclaimed £540,356 bonus pot, over £1.25million looks set to be played for this weekend.

Earlier on in the afternoon, Glen Forsa scored at 7/1 for former footballer Mick Channon, followed by 5/1 shot Lake View Lad winning the Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase at Wetherby. That left 3920 tickets going into the third leg, where Teescomponents Lad won at 6/1 to send 382 units past halfway and into the King George VI Chase where the six-year-old struck.

Totepool spokesman Matt Hulmes said, “We are into the realms of life-changing sums now with the Scoop6, and a single winner on the final weekend of 2018 could be welcoming in 2019 as a Millionaire.”

The place fund paid £243.70 and was won by 255 units.
