Stewards’ Cup highlights Glorious final day at Goodwood - (2025)

Another stellar edition of Glorious Goodwood concludes on Saturday with the Stewards’ Cup the feature.
After seeing Battaash win the King George Stakes for the third year in a row, Charlie Hills (pictured) will hope for more joy in the crowded feature when 6/1 favourite Khaadem goes at 15:40.
The three-year-old was second in a Group Three last time but his trainer has pedigree in this race, winning with Magical Memory in 2016.
While Khaadem is taking the headlines, the Lambourn-handler is confident his other entry, 18/1 Vanbrugh, can have also a say, despite carrying top weight.
Hills said: “Vanbrugh has been working very well at home. We have been banging our heads over seven furlongs as he has not been quite getting it, so we have decided to bring him back to six.
“Carrying top weight would be the only real negative, but he is there for a reason as he has earned that weight.”
The day’s action gets underway at 13:50 and runs through seven races until the closer at 17:25.
Saturday’s opener is a Sprint Handicap over six furlongs, featuring the interesting Boy In The Bar at 10/1. A rise in mark since his win at Royal Ascot could hinder Ian Williams’ eight-year-old but he is a course and distance winner.
The Summer Handicap at 14:25 also looks a decent renewal and the brilliant Mark Johnston will be hoping to continue his form when King’s Advice and Charles Kingsley go head-to-head (Race Winner – King’s Advice, Charles Kingsley both 11/2).
Ridden by Joe Fanning and Frankie Dettori respectively, the pair look set to challenge, with Hughie Morrison’s Corgi (5/1 Race Winner) and Hills’ Bartholomeu Dias (11/1) also both prospects.
