Greyhound Racing Tips for Monmore Saturday 08/08/2020
The best bets for Saturday's action at Monmore.
Another weekend of top-class sporting action takes place in the world of greyhounds with the trials for the Ladbrokes Gold Cup forming part of an excellent 12-race card at Monmore on Saturday evening.
A race with a rich vein of history, it was originally known as the Midland Gold Cup when it was inaugurated in 1994 and has been won by a host of top-class canine talent in the years since.
Two winners of the Ladbrokes Gold Cup, Toms The Best (1998) and Taylors Sky (2011) both also won the sport's most coveted prize, the English Greyhound Derby.
This is an early stage of the competition, but there are plenty of fascinating contenders, including the 2019 winner of the competition Seaglass Tiger being in action and we're previewed the pick of the action with our best bets.
It promises to be a superb night of greyhound action and you can watch it all unfold through a betting app of your choice.
Greyhound Racing Tips for Monmore
We fired in a 6/4 winner with our latest big-race preview and are seeking further riches this evening.
6:09: Monmore: Seaglass Tiger (Trap Three)
The defending champion. He shaped nicely last week in another trial for this event and ran on strongly to finish second despite being trouble in running. This looks s good opportunity given his fine course record to notch another win on the board.
6:43: Monmore: Billies Tea (Trap Four)
An interesting prospect for Kevin Hutton. The son of Droopys Jet has a good record at Monmore having won his last two starts at the track and he shaped nicely showing good early on his return at the track earlier this month
6:58: Monmore: King Dylan (Trap Two)
One of the best races of the evening. King Dylan met all sorts of trouble in running when third over course and distance last week. He needs to break better this time around, but he has plenty of good form. Southfield Code is a major danger having finished a narrow third in the Coral Regency final at Hove last weekend. However, he might just need this race having never gone round Monmore before.
7:18: Monmore: Gonzo (Trap Five).
Shaped nicely on his latest start at the track when staying on well in the closing stages. She should have learnt plenty from that experience and is one to consider strongly.
7:36: Monmore: Southfield Bea (Trap Two)
Another interesting event in which Kevin Hutton's bitch makes appeal. She was a game winner at Hove last month, before things failed to go her way last time out. She can be forgiven for that and whilst this is her first start at the track, she is of interest
7:56: Monmore: King Sheeran (Trap Five)
Things haven't gone right for Liz McNair's dog on his last two starts. He has broken poorly at both Hove and on his first start at Monmore last week. He could never get involved after that tardy start, but that experience will stand him in good stead for this assignment.
8:38: Monmore: Newinn Jacko (Trap Three)
Ernie Gaskin's inmate has plenty of smart form in his back catalogue and looks to have bagged a good draw here. He is another dog having his first start at the track but that's not too much of a concern and he is the class dog in this event.
9:12: Monmore: Queen Jessiej (Trap Two)
Bet of the evening. One of the best bitches in training and she looked well at home at the track last weekend. She broke smartly on that occasion and ran on strongly to register a cosy two-length win. There are some interesting candidates taking her on but this looks a good draw and she is a major player.
