Woods the focus ahead of PGA Championship

Tiger Woods will attempt to win back-to-back majors at the PGA Championship.
The PGA Championship gets underway on Thursday at New York’s Bethpage Black course with all eyes on US Masters winner Tiger Woods going into the second major of the season (Tiger Woods 11/1 – PGA Championship outright).
After being held in the long hot days of summer since 1972 the US PGA makes a spring debut on Thursday when the world’s top golfers battle it out on New York’s Long Island.
Woods ended a decade without a major to pick up the Masters last month and he will have the full backing of the crowd, although at nearly 7,500 yards long the course is not built to suit his style.
The fifteen time major winner has won on the course before when he picked up the US Open Trophy back in 2002 when he was at the height of his powers.
Whilst all eyes will be on Woods, South Korea’s Sung -Hoon Kang will be going in as the man in form following his first ever PGA win at the Byron Nelson in Dallas.
Kang beat Matt Every by two shots after storms had meant a late finish on Saturday and a lack of sleep for the South Korean.
“Saturday we finished too late and I didn’t get enough time to sleep. I only slept about three hours,” he said.
“When my turn came up I tried to really focus on it and it worked out great. I am so happy right now.”
World number three Brooks Koepka finished fourth in Dallas with a bogey free final round and will be a real contender for the PGA Championship as he looks to defend the title he won last season (Brooks Koepka 10/1 – PGA Championship outright).
Odds subject to change.
