Blixt hoping to end weekend woe - (2025)

Jonas Blixt (6/1 – Tournament outright) is hopeful he can finally put it together over a weekend after taking the halfway lead at the Charles Schwab Challenge.
The Swede opened the week at Colonial with a 67 and backed it up on Friday with four birdies, an eagle and no bogeys to sign for a second-round 64.
That is enough to give him a 36-hole tally of nine-under to hold a one-shot lead over American duo Kevin Na (6/1 – Tournament Outright) and overnight leader Tony Finau (14/5).
Blixt has enjoyed a middling season, with his best finish a tie for 15th at the Genesis Open, and will have his work cut out over the weekend, with 2016 champion Jordan Spieth (6/1) amongst those in contention, four off the pace.
The 35-year-old leader appears in good spirits though, feeling his game has been moving in the right direction recently without producing the goods in the final two rounds.
Having given himself the advantage in Fort Worth, the Nassjo-born star, whose last PGA Tour win came at the 2017 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, says he is now focused on maintaining his momentum into Saturday and hopefully Sunday afternoon.
“I think I’ve played pretty good this year,” Blixt said. “Obviously not had the good finishes yet, but it’s been up there a bunch of times. If you slow down a little bit people are going to pass you. That’s pretty much what I’ve been looking for – a good weekend.
“I feel like I’ve been trending for a while (and) just need to have a good weekend.”
Odds subject to change.
