Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was cut to 2/1 joint-favourite to get the Manchester United job on a permanent basis after last weekend’s win over Tottenham – and now he is 6/4 with Betfred!

The Norwegian has won all six of his first games in charge – a feat which goes down in the club’s history as the best start at Old Trafford by any manager.

United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham last Sunday saw Ole cut to joint 2/1 favourite alongside Mauricio Pochettino to land the job on a permanent basis in the summer.

And Solskjaer has been cut even further since then, sitting today as the 6/4 outright favourite with Betfred to secure his “dream job”.

This comes after numerous reports in the press that the United players are urging the club to appoint him full-time, and that the 45-year-old is set for a ‘formal interview’ with the board.

Following closely in the betting is Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, whom Solskjaer enjoyed victory over last weekend, at 9/4.

The Argentine has long been the supposed preferred candidate for the role, though questions around the possibility of securing his services have always been prevalent.

Zinedine Zidane remains in the mix, at 8/1, though latest rumours suggest he may be in line to replace Massimo Allegri, who is 10/1 for the United job, at Juventus.

Other names regularly in the conversation include England manager Gareth Southgate, 12/1, Laurent Blanc, and Antonio Conte – both @ 20/1.

If Ole continues the way he has started life back in Manchester, it’s looking like great value that he will be appointed the permanent manager once his ‘trial period’ is up at the end of the season.
