Liverpool are already eyeing new recruits

Updated: 19/09/2023
Liverpool may be in the midst of a title race, but it seems Jurgen Klopp is already on the prowl for new talent.
The Reds are now just three points ahead of the chasing pack, including Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
They’ve relinquished one-goal leads in their last two matches to let their seven point margin drop to three.
Now it seems as though the Liverpool gaffer may be trying to lure Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne to Anfield.
Liverpool’s current front-three are one of the most feared forward lines in world football.
When all on form, no-one can live with the trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
However, when you look beyond them, then the back-up is quite light.
We all know Daniel Sturridge can be a lethal finisher, but we also all know he gets injured….a lot!
Xherdan Shaqiri is a solid versatile option across midfield and attack. But Divock Origi showed against West Ham United recently that he’s not going to be that guy when it comes to winning titles.
Revolving door
Klopp will hope his first-choice front-three can keep his side at the summit – but his task will become heightened if they lose one of their striking stars.
It’s looking increasingly likely he will shift both Sturridge and Origi out of the club in the summer.
This will make way for some proven players from the continent that can provide that much needed strength in depth.

Could Lorenzo Insigne be the vital piece in Klopp’s puzzle?
Insigne has been one of Serie A’s shining lights in recent years and crucially can play across the three-man attack.
The Anfield club are also keeping close tabs on RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner – but will face tough competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City for his signature.
Liverpool host Bournemouth on Saturday and will be desperate to return to winning ways at 1/5 on.
But after slipping to Evens second-favourites for the title, maybe Klopp will be kicking himself he didn’t get another striker through the door in January.
