Kovacic to make move to Arsenal?
Updated: 16/09/2024
Arsenal have emerged as shock favourites to land Chelsea-loan star Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatian international has impressed for much of this season and is reportedly keen to remain in the Premier League.
In normal circumstances, you’d fancy Chelsea to outmuscle the Gunners for his signature – but a move across London isn’t out of the question.
The Blues’ looming transfer ban means, they could struggle to lure top talent to Stamford Bridge.
Our traders have responded to Kovacic’s alleged desire to remain in England and have priced up Arsenal at 2/1 favourites to secure a deal.
Alex Apati of Bookmaker said: “Chelsea’s transfer ban puts Kovacic in an interesting position, and with the Croatian seemingly content with life in England it’s Arsenal who head the betting for his signature.”
There’s no option to buy in his Chelsea deal either, so the rest of the top six are ready to pounce.
Tottenham are in at 5/2, while Man United are 7/2 shots to bring the Real Madrid-loanee to Old Trafford.
