Huddersfield Town vs Manchester United Prediction

Best Odds: Huddersfield Town 0-2 Man United @ 5/1 with Betfred

Best Odds: Huddersfield Town 0-3 Man United @ 15/2 with Betfred

Huddersfield Town's fairy tale beginning to their first premier league season has fizzled out faster than they would have expected with the Terriers crashing to their third defeat, this time against Swansea City 0-2 in an away game. This comes on the heels of the 0-4 loss at home to Tottenham Hotspur in late September. The Huddersfield forward line of Tom Ince, Rajiv van La Parra and Laurent Depoitre have found goal-getting immensely hard, what with the Terriers going goal-less from their last five appearances. Against the visiting Manchester United, who have been the stingiest of all teams when it comes to conceding goals (just two so far), to find one into the back of the net looks improbable for the hosts.

For United, it could be an opportunity to come back to their scoring ways after an uninspiring display against Liverpool last Saturday. Romelu Lukaku, the Red's top scorer (six goals), who looked totally lost at Anfield could very well find his mojo back at St John Smith's stadium on Saturday. So could folks like Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Juan Mata, all of whom are potential scorers. The Huddersfield defense of Tommy Smith, Mathias Jorgensen and Christopher Schindler, all recipients of yellow-cards in the Swansea clash, have done little to stem the flow of goals (nine from their previous five games) and could very well crumble in the face of repeated United attacks.

Huddersfield Town vs Manchester United Verdict

Jose Mourinho's boys had a mid-week UEFA Champions clash lined-up when they flew to Portugal to face Benfica for a Group stage clash. They won the game 1-0. The Red Devils could be slightly jet-lagged from their Iberian sojourn, but that is hardly going to dim their chances to get the better of Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Barring miracles, it should at least be a 0-2 or 0-3 win for Jose Mourinho's men. The Red Devils can expect to collect the required three points to remain in the 2nd spot of the EPL table post the John Smith stadium game, while the hosts could expect to add one more to their string of defeats and slip further down from the 12th position they currently hold.
