Four FA Cup Giant Killers For Your Weekend Accumulator - (2025)

The Premier League pauses for the FA Cup again this weekend and the fourth round is chockablock with upset potential.

Accrington Stanley, Shrewsbury, Millwall and non-league Barnet will all be looking to pull off a giant killing whereas plenty of Premier League sides will be concerned about making the fifth round at all.

The following article picks out four potential upsets that are all worth adding to your FA Cup accumulator bet. We start off in the North West.

Accrington Stanley vs. Derby County

Saturday, 12:30

Derby have earned a reputation as giant killers this season after knocking Manchester United out of the League Cup at Old Trafford and beating Southampton at St Mary’s in the previous round of this competition. Frank Lampard’s side seem to raise their game against the big boys, but they could fall victim to an upset of their own at the Wham Stadium in Saturday’s early kick-off.

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

Accrington pulled off a shock last time out, overcoming Ipswich Town 1–0 in front of their own fans. Home advantage may again play a part and, with Derby having triumphed in only one of their last four trips away from Pride Park, Stanley have a decent chance of springing a surprise.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. West Bromwich Albion

Saturday, 15:00

Brighton delivered a terrific performance in the last round of the FA Cup by beating Bournemouth 3–1 at the Vitality Stadium. Chris Hughton did not pick a first-choice XI for that match, however, and is likely to shuffle his pack again when West Brom visit the Amex this weekend.

That will give the Baggies cause for cheer, particularly as finding the net has not been a problem this term — no team in the Championship can match their return of 57 goals in 28 games.

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

Brighton will have half an eye on Tuesday’s Premier League clash with Fulham, and West Brom, who have also amassed the joint-most away wins in the second tier in 2018/19, look well positioned to take full advantage.

Millwall vs. Everton

Saturday, 17:30

For a club who have not been in the top flight in the Premier League era, Millwall have an excellent record in the FA Cup in recent times. Runners-up in 2004, they came close to reaching another final when they lost to eventual winners Wigan Athletic in the last four in 2013. The Lions also reached the quarter finals two seasons ago.

body[data-twttr-rendered=”true”] {background-color: transparent;}.twitter-tweet {margin: auto !important;}

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

Neil Harris’ team therefore have nothing to fear against an Everton team who have been very inconsistent throughout Marco Silva’s debut campaign. Leeds United, Middlesbrough, Derby County, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are among the second tier sides who have failed to win at The Den this term, so the Toffees could come unstuck when they travel to south London this weekend.

Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday, 16:00

If this was a Premier League game, the sensible betting choice would be to back a 1–0 Tottenham triumph: that has been the scoreline in each of the last five top flight meetings between these two clubs from the capital. There was also just a single goal in the most recent FA Cup encounter featuring Palace and Spurs, but on that occasion it was the former who emerged victorious — and the same outcome could be on the cards here.

Spurs have a high octane League Cup semi-final against Chelsea taking place a few days before this FA Cup clash and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Attacking quartet Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Dele Alli will all miss out for Mauricio Pochettino’s men and it means Palace are facing Tottenham at the best possible time.

body[data-twttr-rendered=”true”] {background-color: transparent;}.twitter-tweet {margin: auto !important;}

function notifyResize(height) {height = height ? height : document.documentElement.offsetHeight; var resized = false; if (window.donkey && donkey.resize) {donkey.resize(height); resized = true;}if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var obj = {iframe: window.frameElement, height: height}; parent._resizeIframe(obj); resized = true;}if (window.location && window.location.hash === “#amp=1” && window.parent && window.parent.postMessage) {window.parent.postMessage({sentinel: “amp”, type: “embed-size”, height: height}, “*”);}if (window.webkit && window.webkit.messageHandlers && window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize) {window.webkit.messageHandlers.resize.postMessage(height); resized = true;}return resized;}twttr.events.bind(‘rendered', function (event) {notifyResize();}); twttr.events.bind(‘resize', function (event) {notifyResize();});if (parent && parent._resizeIframe) {var maxWidth = parseInt(window.frameElement.getAttribute(“width”)); if ( 500 < maxWidth) {window.frameElement.setAttribute("width", "500");}}

Roy Hodgson’s charges have caused both Manchester City and Liverpool considerable problems in recent weeks and their counter-attacking speed could undo Spurs at Selhurst Park.
